LocalWhisper Privacy Policy

LocalWhisper processes audio transcription locally on your Mac. We do not collect, sell, track, or upload your audio, transcripts, recordings, or app usage data.

Data Stored On Your Device

LocalWhisper may store the following data locally:

Audio recordings you create or import.
Transcripts, speaker labels, and related transcription metadata.
App preferences such as selected model, language, appearance, and recording settings.
Locally generated diagnostic artifacts for your own review and troubleshooting.

This data remains on your device unless you choose to export, share, copy, or otherwise move it.

Network Use

LocalWhisper may use the network to download speech recognition, diarization, or text cleanup models that you explicitly request. Audio and transcript content is not uploaded for transcription.

Permissions

LocalWhisper requests microphone access to record your voice and system audio capture permission when you choose to transcribe system or meeting audio. Accessibility permission may be requested only if you enable auto-paste.

Data Collection

LocalWhisper does not collect personal data, analytics, advertising identifiers, crash reports, or tracking data.
